The Ohio County Historical Society will host a Quilt Exhibit in conjunction with Rising Sun’s annual Navy Bean Fall Festival according to this release provided by the organization.  The event will take place inside of Rising Sun’s Heritage Hall, 214 Main Street, Friday and Saturday, October 11-12, from noon-6:00 p.m.

The exhibit will feature a selection of quilts constructed in the mid-1920s and 1930s. All pieces are from the Young family who were residents of both Ohio and Switzerland Counties.

Co-hosted by the Sunshine Stitchers of Rising Sun, members will be on hand to share their love of quilting with locals and guests. Items will be available for sale as a fundraiser. A free will donation is requested at the door.

Members of the Historical Society will man an information/membership station on site. Attendees are encouraged to visit the Rising Sun Historical Museum while in town. A short walk from Heritage Hall, the museum is located at 212 S. Walnut Street.

The exhibit is being held in memory of Chandra Mattingly, a supportive member of the Ohio County Historical Society and a dear friend to the Rising Sun community.
