City Street Paving Underway
Posted by Bryce Kendrick on May 12, 2020
Thanks to state funding totaling over $682,000 through Community Crossings Grants, the City of Rising Sun is currently paving 14 sections of its streets. Over the next several weeks, the following streets (not in paving order) will be milled then resurfaced by Dave O’Mara Construction with 1-1/2 inches of asphalt (15-year lifespan):
Plum from Mulberry to High.
William from Mulberry to High.
William from Walnut to Front.
First from Downey to the dead end.
First from Mulberry to Walnut.
First from Walnut to Front.
Second from Henrietta to Walnut.
Main from Walnut to Front.
Fourth from Mulberry to High.
Fourth from High to Front.
Fifth from Poplar to High.
Fifth from High to the northern city limits.
Broad Alley from Main to the dead end.
Sunset from Burgess to the dead end.
HMA overlay and curb ramp replacements to meet ADA standards will also be added in these areas. While a street is being milled and paved, there will be no parking on that street from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will be some minor inconveniences, but all are temporary and will yield to much better streets for our community.
