Benefit Ride For Ann and Rick Miller
Posted by Bryce Kendrick on August 9, 2016
In 2006, Rising Sun’s Ann and Rick Miller welcomed the arrival of their newborn daughter Alanna. However, shortly after giving birth, Ann was diagnosed with Posterior Reversible Encephalopathy Syndrome or PRES. This rare syndrome has left Ann confined to a traditional wheelchair ever since.
A benefit poker run for Ann is being held Saturday, September 24 with the proceeds going toward the purchase of a Trackmaster power chair. The tracked wheelchair can be used outdoors with ease over all terrains, curbs and sidewalks. It would give Ann the freedom and independence she hasn’t experienced in 10 years.
The ride will begin at Rockies Bar & Grill at 301 Industrial Access Road in Rising Sun. Registration is from 10:30 am until the start of the ride at 12 pm. The ride will end at the Rising Sun Senior Citizen Center. The cost is $15 per person or $30 per couple.
Donations of any amount will be greatly appreciated and may be made at any Friendship State Bank location.
