A new business opened in Rising Sun on Monday, August 31.  Angie’s Baker’y began welcoming guests at 120 N. Walnut Street.

Owner Angie Baker’s passion for cooking started when she was young with her great grandma, Gigi, and her mom. Granted, she only wanted to lick the mashed potatoes off the beaters, but you have to start somewhere.

Angie believes food should be natural and minimally processed with simple ingredients. She loves how good food warms the soul when it is shared among family and friends. It makes for great memories as well.

Angie’s Baker’y will serve organic, freshly ground coffee daily. Sit down and enjoy a cappuccino, latte or iced coffee with the house special, creme brulee coffee creamer. Various types of fresh baked goods are served daily including: scones, muffins, breads (sandwich, baguettes, banana nut etc.), doughnuts, New York-style bagels and biscottis. They also have breakfast sandwiches and biscuits with gravy. Angie’s Baker’y will include some vegan and gluten free options depending on the needs of the community.

Many items not carried every day can be special ordered like cupcakes, cookies and (occasionally) cakes. Special orders also include anything they carry daily that you need larger amounts of such as two dozen doughnuts for a morning work meeting.  If you are looking for something specific, come see them.

Angie’s Baker’y is open from 5 am to 10 am. But Angie says if the lights are on, then the doors are open.  Their phone number is 812-577-4502.
