UPDATE!  For the Saturday, March 4 Dumpster Day, the dumpsters will not be available until 8 am due to scheduling.  Please do not line up prior to 8 am so the dumpsters can be put in place.  Thank you. For Rising Sun residents only, the City of Rising Sun will have dumpsters available at the City Dump from 7 to 11 am on the following Saturdays: March 4, April 1, May 6, June 3, July 1, August 5, September 23, October 7 and November 4. The Ohio County Historical Society and the Sunshine Stitchers announce the annual Rising Sun QuiltFest. The event will be held March 31-April 2 at the Rising Sun History Museum located at 212 S. Walnut Street in Rising Sun. The Rising Sun quilt event originated inside long-time residents Betty Ann and Lloyd Pavy’s former furniture store. UPDATE- No Phone Service at City Buildings During Upgrade Feb. 28
Thanks to a $14,790 grant from the Rising Sun Regional Foundation, the City of Rising Sun is getting a new phone system installed in several of its buildings.  Orginally, the system was to be installed on February 6 and 7.  However, the upgrade has been pushed back to Tuesday, February 28. Purdue Extension-Ohio County in conjunction with the Switzerland County SWCD is sponsoring a workshop for farmers that will help them increase their pastures' health and productivity.  The presentation will be held Thursday, February 2 at 6 pm in the Bear Branch Fire Department. Christin Herbst, Carroll County/UK Extension Educator, will discuss soil testing.  Matt Jarvis, NRCS, willl review pasture renovation.  And Steven Sarson, Bekaert, will look at fencing.
