City Receives RSRF Grant For Riverfront Staging
Thanks to a $15,670 grant from the Rising Sun Regional Foundation, the City Of Rising Sun received funding toward the purchase and installation of permanent, weatherproof staging for our riverfront.  The staging, 12’ x 24’, will be placed along the base of the concrete serpentine wall by the river and centered below the pavilion.  Ample electric is already in this area. Now that the Navy Bean Fall Festival is behind us, leaf collection is upon us.  For those within the Rising Sun city limits, please use the following guidelines for leaf collection: -  Leaves must be raked and piled in rows along the street for easy access. -  Avoid placing leaves by mailboxes, signs or trees with low hanging branches because those will interfere with the swing arm. -  Don’t place garbage or large sticks in the leaves. -  Leaves will be collected on...

The United Sidecar Association is bringing its 40th Annual National Rally to Rising Sun June 14-16, 2018.  All motorcyclists and friends are welcome.  Those who register for the event will enjoy door prizes, awards, goodie bags, self-guided tours, two meals, sidecard games, "Show and Shine" judging, restaurant discounts and more. EVANSVILLE – Accelerate Indiana Municipalities (Aim) announced the city of Rising Sun has been named a 2017 Placemaking Award winner. The City will receive its award during the Aim Annual Awards Luncheon presented by Umbaugh, Wednesday, Oct. 11, at the 2017 Aim Ideas Summit in Evansville. Next Dumpster Day is October 7
For city residents only, the City of Rising Sun will make dumpsters available at the City Brush Dump on the following remaining Saturdays in 2017 from 7 to 11 am: October 7 and November 4. The following items are not permitted at the dump: liquids, hazardous waste, wet or lead paint, closed drums, Freon containing refrigeration equipment, tires or mercury containing lamps.
