Thanks to a Community Crossings Match Grant, the City of Rising Sun will begin milling a few of its streets on Tuesday, May 30 in preparation of installing new asphalt.  Streets to be worked on by the Paul H. Here is a great activity for parents with children ages 3-5. Join the Rising Sun-Ohio County Parks & Recreation Department for Tyke Hike. You and your little one can participate in one, two or all three hikes on June 20, 21 and 22.  The cost is only $4 per session ($12 for all three). Bug Camp June 13-15
Children ages 6 to 10 years old can participate in the June Bug Camp sponsored by the Rising Sun-Ohio County Parks and Recreation Department. This year's three-day camp will be held June 13-15 from 9:30 to 11 am each day at the shelter in Shiner Community Park.  The cost is only $4 per day (or $12 for all three days). Rising Sun Public Dock Applications Available Through June 2
The Rising Sun/Ohio County Port Authority has opened up 2017 applications for mooring spaces at the Rising Sun Public Docks.  Applications are being accepted right now and must be received in the City of Rising Sun's Clerk-Treasurer Office by 5 pm on Friday, June 2. Fees for 2017 are $15 per foot for boats up to 26 feet in length or $20 per foot for boats over 26 feet in length.  Those Rising Sun or Ohio County residents who rented space in 2016 have priority.  If space is still ...

Music On Main is back for 2017 every third Friday, May through September, from 6 to 8 pm.  The first of the season is Friday, May 19.  The band Stranger will perform at the Main Street Pavilion. There is also a Cruise-In.  If you have a classic, antique or custom vehicle, show off your ride on historic Main Street. Industrial Access Replacement Underway
Construction has begun to replace Industrial Access Road between North High Street (SR 56) and Rising Star Drive.  Traffic will be restricted to one lane for the next several months. The current concrete surface has deteriorated rather dramatically over the last several years.  Most recently, funds through local grants helped patch the worst of the potholes; however, the patchwork was never an ideal solution nor was it intended to be a permanent one. Haven't received your bill yet from Rising Sun Municipal Utilities?  There is a good reason.  They are lost in the mail.  No joke.  Also lost are utility bills for Aberdeen-Pate and Greendale. RSMU is in contact with the US Postal Service to see if the bills will be found.  What RSMU will do if they are not is still to be determined.  Please watch for additional information.  The software used to generate the bills does not allow for them to be reprinted. ...
